Joy opens the heart.  - Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, The Aleph-Bet Book, Simcha A2
The Mendocino Coast Jewish Community (MCJC) is a contemporary rural American shtetl. Our shul is located in Caspar, a few miles from the village of Mendocino on the California Coast, about 150 miles north of San Francisco.

The MCJC offers Torah school, a Shabbat minyan, Holiday and life-cycle celebrations, adult education, cultural events, retreats, Shabbat potlucks and much more. The MCJC is unaffiliated and embraces a wide range of Jewish practice and belief.

This website is a virtual scrapbook for the Mendocino Coast Jewish Community. It contains writings, photos, art work and other submissions from members of this diverse Jewish community.
