The Mendocino Coast Jewish Community (shul) is located in downtown Caspar, halfway between Mendocino village and Fort Bragg, California on the beautiful and rugged northern California coast. We are about 150 miles from the San Francisco Bay Area and separated from the next closest Jewish community by a coastal range of mountains.
We think of ourselves as a contemporary "shtetl",
a spiritual and social home for all interested Jewish people and their loved ones who live on the Mendocino coast.
Due to the COVID-19 emergency, all events at the Caspar shul are temporarily suspended. Many events will still take place using online ZOOM technology. Links will be posted on the online calendar, in the Megillah newsletter, and on the Events page here.
The MCJC is an unaffiliated, egalitarian, inclusive Jewish community. The Board of Directors and Rabbi strive to offer a variety of spiritual, cultural and educational opportunities for members of a wide range of backgrounds and ages.
