MCJC Hevra Kadisha

Burial Society The MCJC has an active volunteer Hevra Kadisha (Holy Society) that cares for the community's dead in accordance with Jewish ritual.

The MCJC has acquired a Jewish cemetary at the south end of Mendocino village. The Hevra Kadisha uses the facilities of a local mortuary to perform the ritual of Tahara (washing and dressing) and sitting Shmira.

The Hevra Kadisha arranges the details for the family and provides support in observing mourning rituals.
