DVAR TORAH - PARASHAT
TSAV
Leviticus 8:1-8:13
- 8:1 God spoke to Moses, saying:
- 8:2 Take Aaron along with his sons, and the vestments, the anointing oil, the sin offering bull, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread.
- 8:3 Gather the entire community at the entrance of the Tent of meeting.
- 8:4 Moses did as God commanded him and the community was assembled at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
- 8:5 Moses said to the community, This is what God has commanded to be done.
- 8:6 Moses brought forth Aaron and his sons, and immersed them in a mikvah.
- 8:7 He then dressed [Aaron] with the tunic, belted him with the sash, put the robe on him, and placed the ephod over it. He girded him with the ephod's belt, and tightened it on him.
- 8:8 He then placed the breastplate on [the ephod], and placed the Urim and Thumim in the breastplate.
- 8:9 He placed the turban on [Aaron's] head, and toward his face just below the turban, he placed the gold forehead plate, the holy diadem, as God commanded Moses.
- 8:10 Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything in it, thus sanctifying them.
- 8:11 He sprinkled some of [the oil] on the altar seven times. He then anointed the altar and all its utensils, as well as the laver and its stand, thus sanctifying them.
- 8:12 He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head, and he anointed him to sanctify him.
- 8:13 Moses then brought forth Aaron's sons, and he dressed them in tunics, girded them with sashes, and wound turbans upon them. [It was all done] as God had commanded Moses.
