Thoughts On A Plane

<

Looking out of the plane on high
I'd like to step right out and walk
Walk over the puffy white cloud-country
I'd like to roll right over and over
Dance on the top of the soft cushiony stuff
And feel its yielding, rubbery bounce

When I was little
It was good to stand upon high
Atop the back of my grandma's bed
And jump right into the cushiony softness
Of the mattress below

It would be good to feel how thick velvety and soothing
Those great fluffs of whipped cream really are
Enveloping me in a big blanket of warming softness
But …
To be alone in the cloud-country
Without anyone there
Might be too lonely
